LEARN TO PLAY
INTRO TO SOFTBALL
The Learn To Play (LTP) fall program is for the new player who wants to learn the fundamentals of softball prior to signing up for our spring program. Generally aimed toward ages 5 to 8 (players born 2015-2019), the Learn To Play program runs once per week on Saturday mornings 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Terry Hughes Park, April - June.
New players learn how to throw and catch, how to hit the ball and run the bases, and of course have fun!

U9-C royals
Years: 2015 / 2016
The U9 level of softball covers the fundamentals of softball while introducing players to exhibition game play. Emphasis is placed on fair play, team work and fun!
Players will learn:
*Throwing and catching
*Base running
*Intro to pitching (windmill)
*Intro to catching
*Batting (Coach pitch and pitching machine)
*Game play

Years: 2011 / 2012
The U13C level of softball includes instruction to refine softball skills while continuing on with exhibition game play, and tournament play. Positions are broken down into further detail, including pitcher and catcher.
U13 players have the opportunity to compete at district tournaments on the road to qualify for regionals. Our U13 coaching staff is certified for this level of competitive play.

The U15 level of softball includes further instruction to refine softball skills while continuing on with exhibition game play, and tournament play. Positions are further focused on and additional clinic training is encouraged, including pitcher and catcher. Players are introduced to the dropped 3rd strike rule.
U15 players have the opportunity to compete at district tournaments on the road to qualify for regionals. Our U15 coaching staff is certified for this level of competitive play.

The U19/20C level of softball is a competitive level of game play for our mature athletes. Position play is encouraged. Players are given the opportunity to assist with coaching the LTP (Learn To Play) program, which may qualify for additional highschool credits.
U19/20 players have the opportunity to compete at district tournaments on the road to qualify for regionals. Our U19/20 coaching staff is certified for this level of competitive play.
